We recommend that you contact us and schedule an appointment as soon as you know of an event for which you will need a tuxedo. While we can accommodate last minute requests, selection is always better the earlier you book.

For weddings, most couples will solidify the big decisions around their wedding and reception locations to lock in the date. Once that is out of the way, you are free to schedule an appointment and get the process started. Most couples we meet with do this six to eight months in advance of their wedding date. Earlier is always better because you can get your groomsmen in for fittings and have one less thing on your list as you get closer to your wedding date. Do you really want to worry if your cousin Joe in Milwaukee had his fitting the week before your wedding? We wouldn’t want to either

How it Works

1.    We start by learning a little more about you, your wedding plans so far and what you see when you imagine your wedding day.  The benefit to this is that we can narrow down what we discuss and save time in the process.

2.    We’ll teach you a bit about formalwear and show you a variety of styles and color combinations that might work based on what you’ve mentioned so far. Being an educated customer allows you to make better decisions about what you like.

3.    We’ll take some careful measurements and have you to try on some styles to see how they look on you.  Sometimes a style that looks great on a display doesn’t work as well with a specific body type or complexion.  On the other hand, something you hadn’t considered may be just the right look.  This step helps make this clear.

4.    If you like the style and fit, we can check on availability for your wedding day. Like good reception locations, popular styles and colors go quickly so placing a deposit to reserve your dates will provide the best chance to avoid being disappointed.

5.    Next, you’ll make arrangements for your attendants to be fitted.  We have a nationwide fitting network so even if part of your wedding party lives in Seattle or Chicago, we have a network location near them to provide fitting services.

6.   Final fitting and pick-up is typically on Thursday or Friday for a Saturday wedding. While things can be hectic before a wedding day, it’s always a good idea for the individual wearing the tuxedo or wedding suit to stop in to make sure it looks good and fits properly. We can take care of any last minute adjustments as part of this process.

7.   Returns are due the day after your event.  We are open 7 days a week and if you need extra time for the return, please ask — we’d by happy to let you know if we can accommodate a later return.

Our tailoring is done right here in Rochester, not in some distant distribution center.  That helps us be more responsive to last minute rental requests as well as any fine tuning that is required after your final fitting. We also accept outside repairs and alterations, so if you have clothes in your closet that don’t fit quite right or have a split seam or broken zipper, we’d be happy to help.
